Description

Day 1
Arrive at Colombo international airport and meet up with your local guide. Transfer by private car to your hotel in Dickwella on the south coast. En route visit a turtle hatchery.

Day 2
After breakfast, drive to Mirissa harbour for a morning of searching for whales – look out for Blue, Brydes, Sperm, Killer and Pilot whales and also Spinner dolphins. Return to the hotel and in the afternoon visit a snake farm and see the stilt fishermen.

Day 3
Drive to Mirissa harbour and board a boat for a morning of whale watching before visiting a turtle hatchery and seeing the stilt fishermen.

Day 4
Your last morning of whale watching before driving east to the Yala National Park area. Check into your hotel and relax.

Day 5 – 8
A morning and afternoon game drive in Yala National Park in search of leopards and other mammals and birds in a private jeep. Return to the hotel in the middle part of the day to relax.

Day 9
The last morning visit to Yala National Park before driving about 2-3 hours to the Udawalawe National Park area. In the afternoon enjoy a jeep safari in Udawalawe to see elephants, deer and many other mammals and birds.

Day 10
A morning jeep safari into Udawalawe before driving north to Kandy for your overnight stay.

Day 11
Morning visit to the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home to see the rehabilitation of the young elephants back in to the wild. Continue your journey west to your hotel in Katunaeke, just north of Colombo.

Day 12
Tour ends, transfer to Colombo international airport, return home or onward travel.
