A tour for the keen bird watcher and wildlife enthusiast with plenty of time in 3 national parks. Keoladeo Ghana is a world heritage site, Bandh Baretha is well-known by birdwatchers and Ranthambore National Park was the old hunting ground of the Maharaja of Rajasthan and gives you a good opportunity of hopefully seeing tigers.

Description

Day 1
Arrive in Delhi and transfer by private car to a hotel to freshen up and eat. Drive to the railway station and take a train to Agra. Check in to hotel. Visit the Red Fort in the evening (subject to time).

Day 2
Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal, marble factory and Red Fort (if not visited the previous day). Transfer by road to Bharatpur (approx 1 hour), stopping for sightseeing on the way at Fatehpur Sikri. Arrive in Bharatpur and check in to hotel for 6 nights.

Day 3 – 6
4 full days in Keoladeo Ghana National Park, home to nearly 400 species of bird, along with mammals and insects. Enjoy the journey through the park on a cycle rickshaw and by foot with an experienced naturalist.

Day 7
A day visit to Bandh Baretha Wildlife Reserve, approx 65 km from Bharatpur, and home to nearly 200 species of bird and also animals like deer, boar, blue bull and even leopard. This park well-known to birdwatchers. There is a dam on the River Kakund and an old palace which is still the private property of the Bharatpur Royal family. Return to hotel in Bharatpur.

Day 8
Transfer by road or train to Ranthambore National Park. Check in to hotel for 4 nights. Afternoon free to relax or OPTIONAL game drive (subject to availability).

Day 9 – 11
5 game drives in Ranthambore National Park using jeeps searching for tigers, other wildlife and birds with a park guide and driver. An included afternoon visit to the fort overlooking the lake or an OPTIONAL afternoon game drive (subject to availability).

Day 12
Return to Delhi on an early morning train. Check in to hotel and have lunch before afternoon sightseeing in Old and New Delhi. Visit the Red Fort, take a rickshaw ride to the mosque through the streets of Old Delhi, see Raj Ghat, the government buildings and India Gate before returning to the hotel.

Day 13
Tour ends – transfer to airport – return home or onward travel
