Description
Day 1
Arrive at Colombo and transfer by a private car to a hotel for a 2 night stay.
Day 2
Sightseeing in Colombo with a visit to the coastal town of Negombo, famous for it’s seafood, beaches, harbour and the Dutch church and canals. Overnight in Colombo.
Day 3
Drive (approx 3 hours) to Udawalawe and check in to hotel. Afternoon game drive in Udawalawe National Park, known for its wild elephants and bird life.
Day 4
Morning game drive in Udawalawe National Park in search of more wildlife before driving (approx 1 ½ hours) to Bundala National Park, near the southern coastline. Hopefully see flamingos in the coastal lagoon, crocodiles and other wildlife. Drive to the hotel in Tissamaharama for 2 nights.
Day 5
After breakfast, spend a full day on a jeep safari in Yala National Park looking for wildlife. The park has the highest density of leopards in the world, is home to elephants and crocodiles and has a large variety of bird species.
Day 6
Drive to the coastal town of Galle and en route visit the UNESCO World Heritage Galle Fort. Check in to hotel for 2 night stay.
Day7
Take a boat trip from the Mirissa Fisheries Harbour and head out to sea for bird, dolphin and whale watching.
Day 8
Check out of the hotel and en route to the airport visit the Kosgoda “Turtle Hatchery”. Tour ends – return home or onward travel.
